NOT COOL

i can't believe how close lewis hamilton was to not winning the F1 crown yesterday--he was sixth in the last lap and massa was first, but he managed to slip into fifth to cross the line, and fifth was all he needed to win the championship by a point.

my heart breaks for massa. sixth straight brazilian GP win, and still no title.

now hamilton has something real to brag about. urgh.

arsenal vs stoke city? DIABY GO DO YOUR JOB WELL CAN AND VAN PERSIE YOU DON'T CHARGE AGAINST THE GOALKEEPER WITHOUT ANY REASONS AT ALL. now you go get yourself red-carded. excellent.

(vela needs to have more playtime).

tottenham is shedding their ramos form seriously quickly--harry potterredknapp's waved his wand and suddenly roman pavluychenko has become the striker we all admired in the Euros and luka modric is quickly becoming that fleet-footed playmaker again. arsenal still managed to draw against them, but liverpool--who was still high from beating chelsea a week ago--lost! and hull city--ever since they beat arsenal a month ago or so, they've gained my respect, and the fact that they fought really hard against manchester united would only increase that respect; i hope they'd be able to stay in the premiership for a long time if their form continues.

miroslav klose: 3 goals and 6 assists in 6 games--top of the assist table in the bundesliga. you know what's so sexy about him? the fact that he's so unselfish he'd sacrifice glory he can bask in himself for the team and his teammates--he can't be happier that he's leading the assist table.

SUCKY. WEEKEND. TO. BOOT.

1. arsenal lost to hull city. HULL CITY. like ohmygod.

2. bayern lost to hannover 96. HANNOVER 96. like ohmygod.

3. CESC FABREGAS--YOU CUT YOUR HAIR RIGHT NOW, YOUNG MAN! (what, you tryin' to grow your hair like messi--who now looks wayyy hotter with shorter hair?)

4. arsenal's youths play with more flair and passion than the senior squad.

5. KIMI RAIKKONEN WENT OUT. again. no podium yet again since august, no first place since april. title hopes--dashed. it was sooo close--unfortunately he pitted late, and lost out his third place and went to fifth. then--there was that crash. and that shot of him, looking oh so sadly at the track as the race ended from the sides--ahhh, it despairs me too.

6. i can't care less about massa, but the stupid drive through earned him a penalty and pooofff. there goes his race. ferrari won't get no points outta this race. and his lack of points won't help him with his title dream either. with lewis hamilton though, it's a totally different thing. now he should be pretty untouchable, unless some other dramas happened in the remaining GPs. FRICKK NO HAMILTON IS GONNA BE CHAMPION? WHUTTT!

7. FERNANDO ALONSO WAS FIRST. like ohmygod.

8. lol tottenham is 2-0 down against portsmouth. don't you pity a side that's probably spent one of the most in the off season, has quite a famous manager (ramos) and superstars in the form of david bentley, pavluychenko and luka modric?

9. but the f1 race was really nice--i would never appreciate the singapore night skyline this much until i saw it on tv. there was drama, and crashes and unexpected twists and turns (alonso--from 15th in the starting place, to champion. i think he shed some tears up there just now--like i betcha "i still have it, bitches!" is going through his mind). and sebastian vettel--fifth place! ain't too shabby, man!

10. the f1 fever. so many people were watching--my neighbors around me, below me, above me, in the coffee shop, in the restaurant... it's funny because there hasn't been so much interest in the f1 until it arrives in the singaporean shores, and suddenly everyone's so hyped up about it. great marketing there, seriously.

11. seriously hopes david remembers to get me kimi's cap.

t-minus... 3 days!

caught the first ever night qualifying f1 race today? shucks, kimi didn't get that pole position. again. but i think with the turns and twists in this GP, a pole position may not be as advantageous if you let your concentration slip for just one of the many turns. meh. fingers crossed it doesn't rain tomorrow--i'd rather it drizzle, and let lewis the rain dancer throws caution to the wind and dons the wet-weather tyre--and then the rain stops, and he'd pay for his mistake :D

ANYWAY--

--ZOMG BAYERN LOST TO HANNOVER 96. 1-0. a second loss in a row. even the combined onslaught of toni (you need to get back to your old lethal form. quick), klose (you came sooo close--you're almost there, man) and podolski (huh?) couldn't save them. klinsmann, what the hell is happening? your days are numbered now, man--the only way to redeem yourself is if you trash lyon in the champions league match on tuesday.

(and oh yeah: manchester united vs bolton. cristiano ronaldo's back... with his diving--technically, not diving; ronaldo was just too much of a dishonest prick to tell the referee that the bolton defender already had the ball before he fell, but it's still a frikkin' dirty lie, can?--that won manchester united a penalty. the commentator couldn't stop talking about the referee being stupid and that such refereeing is the stupidest he's ever seen in his career. ferguson would probably just shut up or even secretly thank ronaldo for that trick though--it's not as if united was spectactular against bolton.)

lyon needs to at least draw this if they want to keep their champions league hope alive. bayern needs to at least win this so that klinsmann can convince hoeness and all not to tear his contract or something. lights, camera, action!

"i. am. speed."

more than half of singapore doesn't even know that the F1 is starting this weekend, but i'm proud to say that i belong to that almost-half-part of the population. i'm not even a car buff like my father and my cousin, but their passion for F1 sure is contagious.

gargghhh i wish i can watch the singapore gp live with my own very eyes. and i really wish i know which hotel kimi raikkonen is staying here; truthfully, i think tracking him would be as easy as finding a needle in haystack, given his 'iceman' character (argh, so hot!). he was third in the practice today, by the way (c'mon, kimi; i'm sure you can do it--that losing streak must end soon. don't give up and play second wheel on massa just yet); darn hamilton was first again. i hope he was devastated losing his appeal for the points he lost two weeks ago! i wish anyone would just beat him on sunday and shove back all his cocky talk right into his mouth.

i wonder if michael schumacaher is around? i also heard that some other famous personalities like david "golden balls" beckham and nicole scherzinger would be around to see the F1's first ever night race. if only i'm around to watch this historic even too. looks like it's the tube box for me again...

(watching it on tv is sure as hell not as exciting as watching it live--the unbelievably loud noise of the roar of the cars overpowering the already deafening cheers of the crowd; now that's what i call atmosphere).

----------------------------------

bayern munich saw miroslav klose and tim borrowski scoring to push the bavarian giants into the next round of DFB pokal with a 2-0 scoreline against fc nurnberg on wednesday. miro gave way to make way for the comeback of the anticipated star of the team in the 65th minute: franck ribery. HE'S BAACCCKKKKKK! and so is miro, bitches :D keep track of his goals (and tim borrowski--now, that was a bargain deal seeing the number of goals so far from him) as he makes his way back to his form--slowly, but surely (all he needs is the fans' trust and belief in him--he's got klinsmann's, jogi's, and he's certainly got mine).

meanwhile, lyon thinks jesujuninho won't be able to make it for this weekend's game against AS nancy and next week's bayern game. :( oh noes! would lyon be without their miracle-worker against bayern (who certainly needs some miracles to be injected into the team themselves), but fabio grosso is gonna be back (i miss that man). still looking forward to an exciting showdown between these champion clubs, with juninho or not (keepin' my finger crossed that miralem pjanic may start).

and this comes damn late but oh yeah arsenal's youth team (which averages around 19 years of age) trashed newly relegated sheffield united 6-0. carlos vela, that hunk of a man, scored a hat trick, as aaron ramsey--another hunk of a (young) man--called the shots in the midfield. nikolas bendtner and jack wilshere got some time to shine too as this young teenage team beat a team full of veterans. that is our future team, gunners, and right now, the future's looking very, very bright.

in arsene we trust!

Good one, Rayray!

i was so tired yesterday i didn't check France's WC10 qualifying results against Austria. i wasn't so worried though, since Les Bleus is a top notch team so brimming with talent that should be able to take care of Austria pretty fine.

Apparently, the result was 3-1, and Raymond Domenech's men were at the wrong side of it.

So where's the silver lining from this? We are closer to see Rayray getting fired! And probably we can expect Hugo Lloris to start soon since Mandanda screwed up (he let three fucking goals in. How is that not a screwing up?).

Oh and huge news in the F1 World: Hamilton's stripped of his victory title in the Belgian GP. Everyone's thinking this is like a conspiracy theorist in order to make the sport more exciting, but seeing that disappointed face on that kid just makes my day. Especially when Kimi's car spun out of control and outta the race after the sudden rain.

I wouldn't be able to watch the Singapore GP. but man, would I love to watch him win it and shut all his critics up (and push Alonso far far away from his No 1 seat in Ferrari).

Does anyone know which hotel he'll stay in? Yeah, I'm still not very well versed in the art of stalking...

the silverstone

today i saw a grasshopper that is like this ------------------------------------------------------------------------- big! pretty freaky, since i was standing right next to it and it was on my eye level.

after ferrari's horrible performance in british grand prix today, i conclude that ferraris are not at their best in rainy days. also, after all this and the massa saga, it is obvious that ferrari technicians need to perform better.

today seems to be a pretty good day for sports: exciting f1 race and exciting tennis game. currently watching federer vs nadal wimbledon game. however the game ends, it is pretty obvious that roger is looking at his next successor--the guy who's been his constant pain in the ass in tournaments: rafael nadal.

oh, and this is someone very much worthy of any girl's obsession:

yoann gourcuff.

imagine him, standing side by side with ac milan teammate kaka.

the hotness! it's too much!

last laugh

=D

Kimi Raikkonen is the champion in the Malaysian GP. Heh. Comes as no big surprise, seeing how he'd started on the second place while Hamilton was way down on the 7th; don't try to tell me that he had actually done well in the qualification round--he did NOT since he only grabbed fourth place AND STILL tried to sabotage other racers. Tch tch. Dirty Hamilton. Dirty McLaren. As usual. Massa didn't complete the race AGAIN though so not so big points to Ferrari this week.

As I said a few posts back. Hamilton's overrated. The only reason why people are so interested in him is 'cause he's young, he's got attitude and because of all the attention and publicity showered on him. It's like, it's become cool to say "Hamilton will win this race". Unfortunately, if you know a little bit more about F1, you can see that last year, the person who's won most races is none other thank Kimi Raikkonen. So if you want to start betting on F1, actually your odds are more improved if you bet on the hot Finnish. I also said to watch Hamilton's partner Kovalainen, who's under his father's and his partner's shadow--and unrightly so, because not only he'd just clinched third, but also because I think he's actually got more potential than the too-hyped up Hamilton. (Want the next Schumacher? Look at Ferrari. Look at Kimi. There.)

One of these days, if I've just HAD IT with the Hamilton-hype, maybe I'll write a letter to New Paper or something. Preferably after Hamiton's lost for the gazillionth time to Kimi. Hah.

Anyway, today's the Super Sunday! Man U vs Liverpool (hate 'em. but forced to care about this match because Man U's on pole position in the league table). Annndddd Arsenal vs Chelsea. Anyway, as an Arsenal fan, the dream results for me would be seeing Man U trashed by Liverpool and Arsenal gunning Chelsea down so that the Gunners can still have something to say in the title race. I'll give you three reasons why these dream results may come true today:

1. Man U's the favorites this season and why? Because of the number of goals it's been scoring. So? Note that all goals come from Cristiano "Arrogant" Ronaldo--probably currently the only player in Man U that can be said in top form. By the way, Liverpool's been scoring goals too, with the help of Fernando "PrittyHairs" Torres AND Steven Gerrard. Two star players in peak forms working together opposed to one star player who prefers to solo. The combined forces of Torres and Gerrard will deflate Ronaldo's head tonight.

2. Two words: Avram Grant. Whereas Arsene Wenger is arguably one of the best managers around, Avram Grant is arguably one of the worst around. Wenger's got the tactics, the passion and he's composed. Grant? He's decomposed.

3. After seeing Man U climbing up to the top of the table this week, the young Gunners would be fired up tonight to take back what's theirs. Especially after being so disappointed with themselves for a month of horrible draws. Expect this club to climb back up in a blaze of glory and totally outplay and shoot the Blues down, whose form is becoming more and more lousier with every second they spend with Avram Grant.

I've a good feeling about tonight. Those dream results there may actually be a reality.

Before I go, I'd like to say that Fernando Torres and Cristiano Ronaldo is not that hot. Come on. Look at 'Cesc Fabregas! And of course, Joe Cole (the only reason why I watch a Chelsea watch once in a blue moon). In terms of skills, they can be compared to those two, and in terms of looks, well personally I really like Joe Cole's killer combination of black hair, blue eyes and sexy smile.

And about Singtel winning the rights to air UEFA Cup? Oh man. I really don't want to subscribe to Mio TV just to watch the UEFAs since there really is nothing in Mio TV right now that attracts me. But UEFA is probably the only way for me to catch my really all-favorite team Bayern Munich since I can't catch Bundesliga in the conventional channels (aka Star Sports, ESPN and Football Channel). Great. Well, my family has one more year to make a decision since at least ESPN will be airing UEFAs until the next season.

---------------------------

I realise that by the time F1's come to Singapore, most people will be rooting for Hamilton (oh, d'oh. It's cool to do so). Whatever. I'll make a huge banner if I can watch it and I'll scream for Kimi (who by the way is going to be world champion again despite all you people cheering  for Hamilton to be that) until I cough up a lung. Eh, okay wrong image.

And in Singapore, Arsenal's the least supported club among the Big Four. Are you seeing a trend here?

Somehow I always root for the underdogs. =D

aurgh

eargh. school tomorrow.

and i feel a bit deja-vu-ish. like. my head has been non stop spinning for this week--just like how it was last year. and i like feel like puking all the time. and laying in the bed doesnt help cause it won't stop the world from spinning round and round. and it doesnt help because it reminds me of physics (spinning=angular velocity=physics) and that i am so going to die 'cause i cant understand any frikking thing.

and reading that kimi like totally starting on the last position while hamiton's on pole position is like. not helping my stupid headache. and it's even worse because hamilton was one out of the seven cars which actually finished the GP and duh he was first. and kimi ran out of gas with five more laps to go.

it's like a huge disaster for ferrari lah. none of its drivers actually stood on the podium (nyeh nyeh, you too alonso =D) and both cars could be said had troubles during the race.

and then i saw that manchester united's crawled up to the top of the table after it's win over derby and arsenal's tie with middlesborough. both teams have the same points with manchester united leading on goal difference. argghhhhhh.

what is this, man? dump-on-intan's-favorite-sport-teams-day?

in the pitch black: a story about the moon and the stars

it's a starry night today, isn't it?

sadly, very few seem to notice that. it seems that the only thing most people see when they look up towards the sky is the bright half-moon floating on the black screen above us, reminiscent of a very goofy big grin. The dark violet clouds are not as thick today; they resemble blobs of watercolor paint on a black canvas, a thin layer brushed across the pitch black surface. The stars, the small dots that sometimes glitter on that same black canvas have come out to play but they pale in comparison to the big smiling half-pearl that is the moon.

Let's touch on science a bit; between the stars and the moon, only the stars naturally give out light while the moon just reflects light from stars (in this case, the sun) off its surface. Because of the distance between the earth and the stars, and the earth and the moon, however, the faint light that the moon gives out seems to be relatively much more brighter than those of the stars.

It's a lot like life, isn't it? People with real talent always seem to fade in the background, quietly shining, glittering against the dull mass of people. Like the saying goes, the rice plant with the most number of rice bends in the paddies while the ones with the least rice stands up proudly. Sometimes, a sharp eye or a well aimed telescope will spot the stars, peeking out of the clouds and they'll appreciate the stars' beauty--the quiet charm and beauty that have always been there to decorate the boring night sky, but always taken for granted.

Most of the times, however, people look up to the sky and only spot the beautiful moon. Crescent, Half, Waxing, Full, Waning... The moon sure does come in different sizes and shapes, huh? Always seems to shine oh so brightly, catching all our attention greedily when all it can do is reflect light off its surface. The moon sure is like some people in our lives, huh? These people never do have a real light shining in 'em, but somehow they always manage to stay in the spotlight, so bright and dazzling, taking the credits for what they don't really do. Just like how the moon fools human race for centuries before some genius astronomers realise the truth, these people are great actors and actresses. Cao Cao of the Three Kingdoms has once noted that when the moon shines, its brilliance overwhelms that of the stars around it; there is no way that stars can exist around the moon. Always overshadowing--or shall we say, overlighting--the real talents, these fake show offs always steal the show and we believe them. "Hey, that girl is so perfect, so pretty, so smart, so athletic." "Hey that guy is like the rugby captain, and like so involved in community service and also in leadership board. Woah!" Get a telesecope and see closer. The girl may cheat in her studies and even if her sports are good it's because you're comparing it to the rest of the girls who play with her, who are not exactly brilliant. The guy is just doing all those without putting his heart into them and secretly ask outside people to help him out just so that he can get all the credit and decorate his beautiful portfolio.

There is a time when the moon disappears and the stars cheerfully adorn the night sky. That's when the truth comes out and we realise the real talents that we have missed for so long while feeding the moon his ego.

Look out of the window tonight, people. A half moon is hanging off the sky. And stars glitter in the blackness around its pale pearly light.

------------------------

I feel unbelievably... philosophic now. =D

I feel particularly inspired. Hmmmm. I just finished reading Could Do Without, a 96 chapter, 50,000 plus words Yuffentine drabbles. That can be the reason why. Shall do a fanfiction before I turned in tonight (it is the holidays and I do deserve to enjoy myself just a bit...); it's been so frikkin' long since I last wrote something. Mhmmmm. Shall it be a Yuffentine? An Aurikku?

And by the way, Daniel Craig is hot. Yes, that's like damn random, but it's a universal fact. (: Now go paste a poster of him on your bedroom, because one look at Daniel Craig a day keeps the doctor away. Or you can opt for a George Clooney poster. Or a Kimi Raikkonen one. It's all has the same positive effect. Just don't put a Hamilton poster; it's bad for your health.

Yes, I have something against Hamilton. People who can actually stand his whining and proud arrogant boasts need to see past his talent and to his personality. Why'd you idolize someone with such a lousy personality? Kimi on the other hand, is a great guy focused on what he does in the car, and then knows how to blows off steam outside the car without much boasting to the press--in fact, he acts like he's not an F1 driver at all. He continues life like a normal person--or how normal you can be when you are a millionaire world champion F1 driver.

Since we're on the topic of sport scenes, let's talk about the two big sport events of 2008. Ding-Dong, yep, one of them is the China Olympics 2008. Can you guess the other one? Well, you have to know a bit of soccer to get this: it's the Euro Cup 2008. And guess what? I'd so much rather watch Euro Cup than the Olympics. It can be the fact that I'm more interested in soccer than athletics-track-swimming-etcetc and that I find Miroslav Klose cuter than the possible athletes going to Beijing (well, I haven't seen all of them yet so I may stand corrected). And it can also be because China is a stubborn ally of Sudan and is therefore contributing to the genocide in Darfur. Beijing knows this and do they care? They believe that it is foolish to mix up politics and sport together. But when you're talking Olympics, you're talking the whole world. You're talking about the whole world, well, politics will come into play. Duh. We watch Olympics, we give Beijing money, Beijing uses money to buy more oil and send weapons to Sudan, Sudan use money and weapons to arm Janjaweed, Janjawed kill Darfurians.

Just tune in to the Euro Cup 2008. No England (whatever, you Beckhamfanatics-slash-JoeColenatics-slash-Gerardfangirls-slash-<insert Three Lions Player> Get over it; England is not the only good soccer team in the world. You'll know that if you watch soccer but unfortunately nowadays a lot of girls pretend to watch and understand soccer because they think it's cool and guys will notice them if they start spewing out names like Liverpool and Gerrard and Torres and Beckham and Mourinho, etcetc). So what? Italy, Portugal, France, German, Greece... all them genuinely good, stable, consistent and less emotional teams are still there. It should be a very entertaining cup since Euro Cup can be very unpredictable and shocking.

Much like F1, really. With stricter regulations on traction aids this year, expect more exciting overtakings! =D Now we can see who is the excellent driver--technology can't save 'em no more. And let's see if Hamilton is really the prodigy that he is. I expect new McLaren (who by the way is a sneaky cunning cheating team; still can't forgive them for cheating off Ferrari) sensation Heiki Kovalainen to actually be the new golden boy and steal Hamilton's spotlight away.

Check this out if you don't believe it http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080314/tsp-auto-prix-aus-practice-5820418.html

And I just found out that Arsenal is facing Liverpool on Champions League. Urghh. If the Gunners are facing the Reds in Premier League, I won't be worried since Liverpool is hardly a threat in the Premier League, but in Europe? Since Gerrard and Co already know their hope to lift the Premier League Cup is as likely as Tom Hicks being a fan favorite, they are giving their all in the Champions League. Whatever. If Arsenal lost, sure I'll feel resentment and sadness but hey, Premier League is now like THE league even all of Europe. They should concentrate on keeping the top. If they win, then double awesomeness to Arsenal, and double whammy to Liverpool (nyehnyeh; sorry, LFC is not my most favorite club around).

Woah okay this post is like turning out too long when I just meant it to be an essay on the stars and the moon around us. =D Shall end here.

grand finale

HALLELUJAH, KIMI!

after years of hardwork, many victories and yet absent trophycase, the iceman--probably the fastest driver in the world--has finally clinched his world champion title after a hot race in brazil and a lot of luck. yep, lady luck seems to have had enough with lewis hamilton (who will probably blame mclaren and/or the racers who cornered him), who clinched just the right spot at 7th to let kimi win--which was actually the least possible scenario.

ferrari finally clinches top spot again after kimi and teammate felipe massa who always do well in brazilian courses (must be the support and the feel of home ground beneath the tyres!) clinch one-two positiion, and far behind is sullen ex defending champion alonso. massa was actually first until kimi overlapped him during the brazilian's pit stop--awesome teamwork; if massa had won, no ferrari winners would have clinched the top spot.

finaly kimi gets his hard work and talent recgonised. here's to see him in an even better form next season, when hopefully he'll kick hamilton's ass again--or run over it with his shiny beautiful ferrari.

british grand prix... zoom!

Despite the fact that people were all going like, "Lewis Hamilton would win this race easily; he's gonna go for a hometown win!" and even Alonso going like, "the McLaren people maybe would like Lewis to clinch the title," Kimi (Raikkonen) zoomed in to yet another first position for the second time in a row! And here I was last week, talking to people who were saying that Kimi's a failure who was just lucky to win a race in France and that he can't really compete with Hamilton and Alonso and Massa.

Well I'll give you the **** face. >:-( Kimi's a superb capable driver who takes any chances he's presented with, and he's currently in top form with an awesome team and an awesome car. So he had a tough season last year. Now people call him as the next Schumacher! I think he's gonna catch up with Hamilton soon and end this season with a bang--the one that Ferrari lacked last year.

Did I just post four times today? Wow. Well, wow. Haha.

kimi's great start

okay, what was it that the newspaper was talking about today and yesterday? oh yeah, about how kimi raikkonen was too overrated and stuff and how massa would actually prove to be a real winner in Ferarri.

so two hours ago, kimi raikkonen just won the Australian Grand Prix, defeating world champion Alonso (in Kimi's old company McLaren) and Massa, who's not even in the top three. XD kimi's proving himself to be a worthy sucessor to Schumacher's mantle and Ferrari did right by signing him in.

race on, kimi! =))
