uhmmm...

I stand to be corrected.

In the last post, I was going on and on about the 'dream results' for an Arsenal fan--that is Man United losing to Liverpool and Arsenal triumphing against Chelsea--and how easy it would be to make those results come true.

I spoke too soon.

I trusted Liverpool for one night--one night--to relive their former glory by defeating leader Manchester United and see what happened? 3-0. Three-Nil. Like. Three for Man U and Zero for Liverpool. URGH. I was studying while listening to the TV in my dad's room and my heart sank as Ronaldo scored the second goal; overcoming a two-zero goal difference is already a very hard thing to do, and when Nani scored the third goal and Liverpool's fate was sealed and their dignity? Probably at the lowest.

I couldn't sleep last night again (it's been happening too often these two weeks) so I could hear the TV blaring about the Arsenal-Chelsea match a little later on. Hearing the Liverpool and Man U match was already sad but hearing my beloved team struggling in the second half? Heartbreaking. Didier Drogba picked a very good time to suddenly restore his form and netted two goals. Well, a consolation is that at least we didn't lose 3-0. But we still lost. And there's no reason nor excuses for that.

(Avram's Grant men leh. AVRAM GRANT. HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?! Chelsea'd beaten Arsenal only once in eleven matches and Arsenal's only lost one match in the entire league this season!)

And that's it. Arsenal's off the title race. I won't be like Benitez who last time used to claim that Liverpool was still involved in the title race while struggling with Everton and Man City to get the fourth place. It's a rerun of last season again; it'd be Man U's and Chelsea's time from now on. Funny. We started out very fine. 'The rise and rise of Arsenal', the articles read. Well now everyone would just say: "See? Arsenal is still a team of immature fledglings."

Maybe a miracle would happen and somehow we'd get the Cup in the end. Or maybe we can get the UEFA Cup. Or maybe both. I mean, nothing's sure or unsure in the Beautiful Game.

I mean, it's football.

Chin up, Arsenal fans!

On a really really random note:

I LOOOVEEEEE HUGH GRANT!

He's hot, okay :P You know that's true.

What's with me and liking above forty guys--namely George Clooney, Daniel Craig and Hugh Grant? Well, mainly because they're hot. =P And they have the most interesting characters around. And they're really really great actors. And they're hot.

=D

Kimi Raikkonen is the champion in the Malaysian GP. Heh. Comes as no big surprise, seeing how he'd started on the second place while Hamilton was way down on the 7th; don't try to tell me that he had actually done well in the qualification round--he did NOT since he only grabbed fourth place AND STILL tried to sabotage other racers. Tch tch. Dirty Hamilton. Dirty McLaren. As usual. Massa didn't complete the race AGAIN though so not so big points to Ferrari this week.

As I said a few posts back. Hamilton's overrated. The only reason why people are so interested in him is 'cause he's young, he's got attitude and because of all the attention and publicity showered on him. It's like, it's become cool to say "Hamilton will win this race". Unfortunately, if you know a little bit more about F1, you can see that last year, the person who's won most races is none other thank Kimi Raikkonen. So if you want to start betting on F1, actually your odds are more improved if you bet on the hot Finnish. I also said to watch Hamilton's partner Kovalainen, who's under his father's and his partner's shadow--and unrightly so, because not only he'd just clinched third, but also because I think he's actually got more potential than the too-hyped up Hamilton. (Want the next Schumacher? Look at Ferrari. Look at Kimi. There.)

One of these days, if I've just HAD IT with the Hamilton-hype, maybe I'll write a letter to New Paper or something. Preferably after Hamiton's lost for the gazillionth time to Kimi. Hah.

Anyway, today's the Super Sunday! Man U vs Liverpool (hate 'em. but forced to care about this match because Man U's on pole position in the league table). Annndddd Arsenal vs Chelsea. Anyway, as an Arsenal fan, the dream results for me would be seeing Man U trashed by Liverpool and Arsenal gunning Chelsea down so that the Gunners can still have something to say in the title race. I'll give you three reasons why these dream results may come true today:

1. Man U's the favorites this season and why? Because of the number of goals it's been scoring. So? Note that all goals come from Cristiano "Arrogant" Ronaldo--probably currently the only player in Man U that can be said in top form. By the way, Liverpool's been scoring goals too, with the help of Fernando "PrittyHairs" Torres AND Steven Gerrard. Two star players in peak forms working together opposed to one star player who prefers to solo. The combined forces of Torres and Gerrard will deflate Ronaldo's head tonight.

2. Two words: Avram Grant. Whereas Arsene Wenger is arguably one of the best managers around, Avram Grant is arguably one of the worst around. Wenger's got the tactics, the passion and he's composed. Grant? He's decomposed.

3. After seeing Man U climbing up to the top of the table this week, the young Gunners would be fired up tonight to take back what's theirs. Especially after being so disappointed with themselves for a month of horrible draws. Expect this club to climb back up in a blaze of glory and totally outplay and shoot the Blues down, whose form is becoming more and more lousier with every second they spend with Avram Grant.

I've a good feeling about tonight. Those dream results there may actually be a reality.

Before I go, I'd like to say that Fernando Torres and Cristiano Ronaldo is not that hot. Come on. Look at 'Cesc Fabregas! And of course, Joe Cole (the only reason why I watch a Chelsea watch once in a blue moon). In terms of skills, they can be compared to those two, and in terms of looks, well personally I really like Joe Cole's killer combination of black hair, blue eyes and sexy smile.

And about Singtel winning the rights to air UEFA Cup? Oh man. I really don't want to subscribe to Mio TV just to watch the UEFAs since there really is nothing in Mio TV right now that attracts me. But UEFA is probably the only way for me to catch my really all-favorite team Bayern Munich since I can't catch Bundesliga in the conventional channels (aka Star Sports, ESPN and Football Channel). Great. Well, my family has one more year to make a decision since at least ESPN will be airing UEFAs until the next season.

---------------------------

I realise that by the time F1's come to Singapore, most people will be rooting for Hamilton (oh, d'oh. It's cool to do so). Whatever. I'll make a huge banner if I can watch it and I'll scream for Kimi (who by the way is going to be world champion again despite all you people cheering  for Hamilton to be that) until I cough up a lung. Eh, okay wrong image.

And in Singapore, Arsenal's the least supported club among the Big Four. Are you seeing a trend here?

Somehow I always root for the underdogs. =D
